"Fast Five" was shot in a number of locations including Puerto Rico, Rio de Janeiro, Arizona, California, and Atlanta. I was brought in for a few weeks to design on of the show's main set pieces, which was ultimately much more than just a typical set piece. The bank vault was the key item in the story line the crew was after to bring down the drug cartel. Not only did this item function as a bank vault, it was pulled from the building and dragged all over town, tearing and ripping its way down the street smashing into cars and buildings. In the end there were multiple vaults built to perform different functions in different ways, but ultimately they were all born from the design work above.
