ADDY Awards

Whatever Unique would like to congratulate the recipients of the 2008 Birmingham ADDY awards. The awards concept was based on the wastebasket being a creative’s best friend, requiring the need for a unique one of a kind trophy to be fabricated. The realization of the design of this delicate, yet sturdy, miniature wastebasket was a culmination of metallurgy, sculpture, and miniature fabrication. Once the wastebaskets were fabricated the final task was to fill them with the plastic representation of paper. Since there were nine awards and it required approximately thirty pieces to fill each can, nearly 300 one of a kind paper wads were created. Gluing each piece in, backwards out the can until each one was complete, finally attaching the plates for the awards and recipients.
