Whatever Unique has once again evolved by taking one of its capabilities and applying it to the next evolution of custom fabrication. To the left we took an existing item, shown here with the green and white handle, and created a 3D model from that. The green and white portion was originally 5 inches in length. From that a 3D model was produced for CNC machining to create an extremely close shape that was then assembled and finished by hand. The final parts shown here were enlarged to approximately 4 ft. We work with many companies with their own CNC equipment and help them by providing models or tool paths specific for their machines. From there they are able to keep more of the work in house.
We can work by enlarging your items for display but we can also work with extremely small precision. To the right we have an item that will ultimately be produced in brass. This was originally given to Whatever Unique by the architect as a simple 2D. From there a 3D model was created to solidify the idea and used to establish the method of production.
Notice the dime, there are three levels in this model. From the level upon which the dime sits to the next level, the squiggly star, is 1/64 of one inch. The next level, the straight star, is another 1/64 of one inch. So between the level the dime sits to the highest point is all within 1/32 of an inch. All this is made possible, with more efficiency and with more quality by using 3D modeling to approve the idea and ultimately produce the final piece.

That's not all Whatever Unique has to offer. Look around and you'll see even more that we can do.

Roll over this image:

This bas-relief was created from a photo of me, which was used as reference to produce a 3D model. A CNC machine was then used to transfer the 3D model into a piece of sign foam. Moving your mouse over the image should change the image to the photo that was used. The photo was taken over 5 years ago with no intent of being used in this manner.  This process can be used to machine into any material and to create what would take weeks to do by hand.
